Missouri, the First “Abortion-Free” State?

Could Missouri be the first “abortion-free” state? As shocking as this might sound, Missouri is currently the only state in the United States with zero abortion clinics.

According to Operation Rescue:

Reproductive Health Services Planned Parenthood in St. Louis was the last abortion facility in Missouri. It remains open, but Operation Rescue has confirmed that no abortion appointments have been available there for months, and none are available anytime in the foreseeable future.

This is extremely good news, and could get even better if and when Roe v. Wade is overturned. According to the Guttmacher Institute, should Roe v. Wade be overturned, there is an abortion ban that would immediately go into effect in Missouri.

The news is not all good, though. Also according to Operation Rescue, “All abortion appointments are now being referred to the Fairview Heights Planned Parenthood facility across the Mississippi River in Illinois.”

So while Missouri has been successful in ending abortion in the state, Illinois, with its radical, pro-abortion laws, is ensuring that babies can still be killed just across the border. This illustrates the importance of Illinois pro-lifers standing together to stop the culture of death in our state. The lives of Illinois women and children are not the only ones at stake.

We know that abortion advocates in the Illinois legislature will be working to repeal Illinois’s Parental Notification of Abortion Act this session. If they succeed, Illinois will be one of the few 100% “pro-choice” states in the nation. This will lead to a virtual flood of young women coming to Illinois to end their pregnancies. Please stay tuned to how you can help educate the people of Illinois about the deadly ramifications of repealing this commonsense law.
