Kamala Harris is no moderate, especially on abortion.

When Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden announced Senator Kamala Harris as his running mate, the New York Times and other major media outlets applauded his choice of a “pragmatic moderate” and “centrist.”

“Kamala Harris comes from the middle of the road, moderate wing of the Democratic Party,” said ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos.

A quick look at her senate voting record reveals that this is not the case. Harris is the fourth most left-leaning democrat in the Senate, barely further right than Bernie Sanders. Most concerning for pro-life voters, she has a 100% approval rating from Planned Parenthood Action.

As one of the Senate’s most radical leftists, Harris has compared Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the KKK, supports banning fracking, and wants to eliminate private health insurance.

On abortion, Harris opposes any all restrictions on abortion and even sought to protect the abortion industry from scrutiny. As California’s attorney general in 2015 she used unprecedented legal measures to sue David Daleiden, the journalist who went undercover to expose the buying and selling of aborted baby body parts.

“David Daleiden became the first journalist ever to be criminally prosecuted under California’s recording law, not because of the method of video recording he utilized in his investigation—which is common in investigative journalism in this state—but because his investigation revealed and he published ‘shock[ing]’ content that California’s Attorney General and the private party coconspirators wanted to cover up,” the federal lawsuit says, as quoted by The Daily Wire.

In February 2020, Harris voted against the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, a law which would have made it a federal crime to withhold medical treatment from babies that survived botched abortions. Though the proposed law would have had no effect on anyone’s access to abortion, Harris willfully ignored this fact during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the bill, saying, “there are smarter ways to go about our goal of addressing health concerns for women than restricting abortion, as is the case in this bill.”

The Democratic Party is using the Trojan Horse method of concealing a radical vice president beneath the supposedly non-threatening, “return to normalcy” exterior of Joe Biden. There’s an unspoken knowledge that Joe Biden’s choice of running mate matters more than other nominees’ have. At 77 years of age, his risk of not finishing his first term from medical complications are simply higher than for former presidents, meaning that the vice president has a higher chance of becoming president.

One only has to look at Harris’s record to know what her presidency would mean for the pro-life movement.
