On Thursday, April 20, 2017, Illinois Right to Life celebrated its 49th Annual Leaders for Life Banquet, in Glen Ellyn, IL. It was great to have so many longtime friends, dedicated pro-life leaders, high school and college students, and new faces join us for this special occasion. This year, we were honored to have Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn, Chairman of the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, as our special guest and keynote speaker.
Last year, David Daleiden came to tell us about his undercover investigation into the abortion industry. When his work produced video documentation of senior officials in the abortion business, buying and selling baby body parts, the Congressional Panel was convened to investigate. Under Congresswoman Blackburn’s leadership, the year-long investigation produced astounding results and led to 15 criminal referrals. We got the inside scoop, straight from the Chairman herself – the perfect sequel to the story.
It was also a great privilege to have Bishop Thomas Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield lead us in prayer and offer his blessing. Our emcee, Dan Proft, radio talk show host for AM 560 WIND, brought joy and laughter to the evening as well. Thank you to all those who joined us. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
