Less than 2 weeks ago, the Chicago Cubs stole our heart as they won their first World Series title in 108 years. Today, they’ve stolen our heart again.
Chicago Cubs outfielder Chris Coghlan and his wife Corrie just opened up about their adoption of baby Judge at Christmas time last year.
“It was really emotional seeing Judge and just how small he was…and to see Corrie’s reaction. And sitting there and feeding him that little bottle, and I was like oh my gosh, my life is changed forever,” said Chris Coghlan.
The Coghlans waited a year to adopt and just when they were about to lose hope, baby Judge became their son. This World Series goat curse breaker, said he prays to God that he’ll be a good leader of their family and that Judge and any other children they are blessed with, learn from him to know, love, and serve God.
But the happy story doesn’t have to end there. Today, there are approximately 3,272 children in the foster care system in Illinois waiting to be adopted into a forever home.
Can you imagine?
Over 3,200 children with no mom and no dad to kiss them goodnight. Every year, about 23,000 children age out of the foster care system by turning 18 never finding a forever family.
Are you being called to adopt?
We as pro-life people must continue to be leaders in lovingly adopting children who the pro-abortion movement says should have been aborted. Please prayerfully consider if your family is being called to start the adoption process through foster care. After all, November is national adoption month!
The Coghlan family is certainly busy traveling the country, winning the World Series, and being a normal Christian family. However, now that baseball is finished for this season, they hope to start the process of adoption to give Judge a sibling. Who knows, maybe you will too.
