Dilation and evacuation, or D&E, is a surgical abortion procedure, performed during the second trimester (13-24 weeks gestation).

Aspiration

Aspiration, or suction D&C, is a surgical abortion procedure, performed during the first trimester (5-13 weeks gestation).

The Abortion Pill

The abortion pill is a medical abortion administered during the first trimester (up until 10 weeks gestation in Illinois).

Induction

Induction is a surgical abortion procedure, performed during the third trimester at 25 weeks gestation.
